We Hit The Mr. Gray, Deppe, Darby, Ben David Skull in Humboldt

We Hit The Mr. Gray, Deppe, Darby, Ben David Skull in Humboldt Imagine you are sitting in the woods of Humboldt County enjoying some of the finest cannabis the galaxy has to offer and then out of nowhere one of the most legendary pieces of glass art anyone has ever smoked out of gets put on the table. That is precisely what happened last weekend. And not only did we get to see it, we got to hit it, too. The skull is a collaboration of Mr. Gray, Scott Deppe, Darby Holm and Ben David. It is considered by many to be the nicest piece of glass ever created for the sake of cannabis consumption. I consider myself among that crowd. Since 2014 when Scott Deppe first posted it to his Instagram, it has absolutely captivated hash and glass enthusiasts all over the world. It’s not just a looker, the Mothership Torus encased within the skull is an absolute ripper. I found out the hard way. This past weekend it was set up with a dual hookah hose attachment so two people could hit it at once. And back when it was first created, terp slurpers weren’t a thi...

New permanent water conservation rules are coming to California — see how your city will be affected

New permanent water conservation rules are coming to California — see how your city will be affected Dozens of California cities could be required to impose permanent water conservation measures starting in about a year — and keep them in place even when the state is not in a drought — under proposed new rules from state water regulators. The landmark rules are required by two laws that former Gov. Jerry Brown signed in 2018 after a severe 5-year drought. Environmentalists and some water districts support them, saying they are critical as the state grapples with climate change and more severe droughts. But some water agencies have been strongly opposed, saying Sacramento is beginning a new era of micro-managing how local communities use water.Under the new rules, roughly 400 of the California’s largest cities and water districts are required to come up with a water use budget every year beginning Jan. 1, 2025. They could eventually face fines of up to $1,000 a day — and $10,000 a day during drought emergencies — for failing to write a water use budget o...

Groups want to use insurrection clause to bar Trump from ballot

Groups want to use insurrection clause to bar Trump from ballot By Nicholas Riccardi | Associated PressAs former President Donald Trump dominates the Republican presidential primary, some liberal groups and legal experts contend that a rarely used clause of the Constitution prevents him from being president after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. The 14th Amendment bars from office anyone who once took an oath to uphold the Constitution but then “engaged” in “insurrection or rebellion” against it. A growing number of legal scholars say the post-Civil War clause applies to Trump after his role in trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election and encouraging his backers to storm the U.S. Capitol. Two liberal nonprofits pledge court challenges should states’ election officers place Trump on the ballot despite those objections. The effort is likely to trigger a chain of lawsuits and appeals across several states that ultimately would lead to the U.S. Supreme Court, possibly in the midst of the 2024 primary ...

After Blocking Lockheed Martin Acquisition, FTC Allows Another Defense Firm to Close the Deal After the Federal Trade Commission blocked top defense contractor Lockheed Martin from acquiring a major rocket propulsion firm last year over monopoly concerns, the agency quietly allowed another defense firm that employs a former senior Pentagon official to secure the deal.Following months of scrutiny, the FTC gave final regulatory approval in July for L3Harris, one of the largest defense contractors in the country, to acquire Aerojet Rocketdyne for $4.7 billion. L3Harris had announced that it would buy Aerojet Rocketdyne months after the FTC rejected Lockheed Martin’s bid in February 2022. Related Antitrust Makes a Comeback The FTC has repeatedly heralded the Lockheed Martin block as one of its major successes following the confirmation of reformist chair Lina Khan, who has reinvigorated the agency’s enforcement of antitrust laws. In a testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee last September, Khan called Lockheed Martin’s abandon...
