Bo Byram is unhindered in Avalanche’s system and still just getting started: “I’ve just been trying to shoot the puck more.”

As teammates wished Kurtis MacDermid a happy birthday in the Avalanche practice facility locker room March 25, Bo Byram piped in. With a mischievous grin, he implored reporters in the room to shower MacDermid with attention, making sure to point out the enforcer’s age. Westside knew the city had struck a deal to purchase the land for a regional park. And still, Westside paid an undisclosed amount to buy the right-of-first refusal and then paid $24 million for the land.In other words, Andy Klein and his partners and investors forced Denver to play a game with them, knowing they were underdogs, and now are playing the role of poor loser in dramatic fashion, telling Westword they will consider putting a Topgolf ...
