85-year-old pedestrian killed by a vehicle in Santa Clara

An 85-year-old man was killed after being struck by a car in Santa Clara around 8:45 p.m. on Friday night.The pedestrian, a Santa Clara resident, was walking in a crosswalk at the intersection of Homestead Road and Maryann Drive when he was hit by a Toyota pick-up truck. A fatal crash early Sunday shut all southbound lanes of Highway 13 near Montclair and left one pedestrian dead.California Highway Patrol responded to a report of a man crawling in the slow lane at 1:17 a.m. near the Park Boulevard onramp.According to California Highway Patrol, the man was walking in the number two lane when he was hit by two separate cars, one of which was a black Toyota Corolla.
