Published Thu, 20 Feb 2025 19:35:42 GMT

EDMONTON, Alberta — The Wild were weathering their first rough spot under new head coach John Hynes, tied with the red-hot Oilers, 3-3, in the third period after a listless first period that ended with a one-goal deficit. But the Wild rallied quickly with a three-goal second period, a good sign after Thursday night’s 2-0 loss at Vancouver, the team’s first shutout loss of the season, and first loss in five games under Hynes.Especially after arriving here in the wee hours of the morning.“I didn’t have any problem with the effort,” Hynes said after a 4-3 loss at Edmonton’s Rogers Place. “I thought we were up against it coming into the game, and that’s what the schedule is. But I really liked the compete and the battle that we had.”The game turned on a dime early in the third period when Edmonton’s Evander Kane used his shoulder to slam Minnesota defenseman Jonas Brodin into the end boards, a reckless hit that could easily have put the Wild on a power play in a tie game.Inst...
